Younger Generation
About us

The Younger Generation was set up in 1989 to give young people the oppportunity and chance to appear on stage in a professional environment.

The show is a team effort, there are no 'Individual Stars'. All our cast are 'Stars' which is why in our programme we always have the cast in alphabetical order and in the finale everyone is dressed the same.

Some of our cast members have appeared at the London Palladium.

In 1990 Younger Generation had the honour to be asked to take part in the Queen Mother's 90th Birthday parade in London. She was the president of N.O.D.A (National Operatic and Drama Association) of which Yg is a member. In 2001 we were also joined her 100th Birthday parade too.

In 2008 the group received NODA's flame award for the London region for "outstanding training for young people in the fields of music and dance".

The group writes it's own shows and makes all the scenery except the large cloths that are hired.

We like to have about 100 young peopl aged 9 - 18 tears old in our showsWe try to give each cast member and equal amount of items to appear in. We know that some of our cast are not 'brilliant' but we do not aim for perfection like stage school. Our aim is to let anyone try that would like to have a go at being on stage. It doesn't matter if you are fat, thin, tall, short or even from Mars, if you have the energy and are prepared to work with us, we will help you!
