I'm making a new city with Hlaalu style hosues and doors and I'm having some troubles. I can't get the doors to fit in perfectly. They are a smidge to short. I looked at Balmora to make sure I was using the right doors and I was, so I pulled out the doors in Balmora and tried to get them back in, and I couldn't get them lined up anymore! How do I do this?

===================================================

If you look at the way doors are fitted into Hlaalu buildings you will notice that they are pushed quite far into the door frame. This is what makes them fit. If you want to place the door flush with front wall, just enlarge them slightly 1.05 or something close to it should do it...

---I still can't get them to fit---

Make them 1.10 than but you aren't doing something quite right....

Hold down s and you will change the size of the doors.

Just find the building/door combination that you are having problems with, and copy and paste it.

You should probably turn off grid locking in your CS options. that way you can move it freely.

Smight is quite right that turning off the grid snap may help with positioning doors, but be sure to turn it back on when working with the main room/cave 'tiles' or exterior wall sections. Otherwise you'll get frustrated with things not lining up easily.

I also turn the grid snap off entirely (and angle snap) when positioning interior furnishings or exterior rocks & flora. Snap is an essential tool, but there are times when it's not appropriate.
