Ibanez JS2400WH:
My newest addition and one of 3 Satriani signature models I own, bought to be my main gigging guitar. All the features of the standard JS1000 but with 24 frets instead of 22.
|
 |
Ibanez JS1000BTB:
My main gigging guitar up until the JS2400WH came along.
|
 |
Ibanez JS1000BP:
Always wanted one of these "US and Jap market only" Black Pearl JS's............. so I got one!
|
 |
Ibanez Jem DNA Custom (Herc Fede Swirl Body & Jaden Rose LED Neck):
I spotted this amazing Herc Fede swirl body on eBay and employed the talents of Jaden Rose (www.guitarworkshop-uk.com) to build a custom made neck complete with red LED's. While keeping with the Jem DNA look I chose a different combination of Dimarzio pickups to the original...... Super Distortion bridge humbucker, Breed single coil and Breed neck humbucker. This is a real head turning stage guitar.

Ibanez VBT700WH:
Just decided I wanted a Flying V one day and being a big fan of Ibanez guitars this is what I chose. Now quite rare as it's been discontinued.

 |
Ibanez FGM100's (Black and Blue):
I played one of these many years ago and was hooked straight away. Incredibly thin body and super fast neck. After Frank Gambale left Ibanez for Yamaha these became hard to find but then I came across 2 in a year, the black one all the way from Johannesburg.

 |
Ibanez RG480's (Silver and Purple):
Completing my collection of Ibanez these two were my main guitars back before the JS's and Powerhouse Strats. An outside gig (in the rain!) left the silver one needing new pickups and pots....... which I hope to get round to doing one day!

 |
Fender Powerhouse Stratocaster (Black and Yellow):
These were my gigging guitars for a number of years until I was drawn back to Ibanez with the JS's. Mexican made with active pickup system and 10dB boost. I fitted locking pegs and Graphtech saddles to help keep them in tune. A lot of people don't rate the Mexican Strat's but these proved great value for money. I now use the yellow one with a Roland GR-20 synth, fitted with the Roland GK-3 pickup.

Fender Stratocaster 1971 Sunburst:
Lovely '71 Strat in much loved (and used) condition! Refretted by Manson guitars in Exeter, this hardtail plays beautifully and has a great sound. Really comfortable weight and no need to worry about marking the paintwork!
|
 |
Fender Stratocaster 1974 Olympic White:
'74 Strat faded from it's original Olympic White to the creamy delight you see before you. I bought this in New York State after searching high and low for a staggered pole pickup, custom coloured example from the year of my birth. Unfortunately it's too nice to risk getting battered while out gigging so it spends most days just hangin' around!
|
 |
Fender Stratocaster 1974 Sunburst:
I have a thing for these '74 staggered pole pickup Strats so watch this space for further additions as and when the opportunities and funds allow! Picked this one up off eBay in early 2010. I plan on using this one for selected gigs so decided on getting it refretted by Andy Manners at Vintage and Rare Guitars, Bath.

 |
Fender Stratocaster White MIJ Left Handed (Strung Right Handed):
Just a bit of fun really. Jimi Hendrix but backwards! Not the easiest thing in the world to play though.......... god knows how he managed it! (MIJ is Made in Japan).

 |
Jon Shuker Custom Stratocaster:
Completed in 2002, I had this custom guitar built from scratch and was able to choose every single nut, bolt and piece of wood. Flame/Burr maple top, EMG active pickups and piezo bridge etc etc

Maison SL Series Natural, Wesley Clear Acrylic Strat and Ibanez "No Name" Copy:
I bought the Maison in France (no surprises there!) while on honeymoon. This and 2 lovely children are all that remain from that mariage! The Wesley was an eBay impulse buy but plays very well considering what it didn't cost. The Ibanez copy was my second electric guitar.......... a birthday present from my parents.

Gibson Les Paul 3 Pickup Classic Custom Ebony:
There are some guitars you just have to own! This was Gibson's 2007 Guitar of The Week #46, a limited run of only 400 worldwide. "Classic" combination of gold hardware, mahogany body, maple top and ebony fretboard.

Italia Rimini 12 String Black:
Great value for money and really easy to play. It's nice to have a 12 string in your collection!

 |
Taylor 814CE and Taylor Baby Acoustics:
The 800 series Taylors are amoungst the best elecro-acoustics out there. Lovely sound and very playable action/neck. When I bought the 814CE the Baby came along for free! It might look like a toy but this is a seriously well built travel guitar.

Vintage AMG2 Tricone Resonator, Tatra, Raimundo and Gravity "Silent Guitar" Acoustics:
Bought the Vintage Resonator to try and master some slide playing. The previous owner upgraded the tuners and had National cones fitted. The Tatra was a Christmas present from Mum and Dad in 1988 and was my 1st ever guitar. The Raimundo was rescued from my ex-inlaws loft and the Gravity Silent acoustic was found in a skip by one of my friends. After a bit of TLC I got the latter working properly and it makes an interesting addition to my collection.

Marshall TSL122 Combo, TSLC212 Extension Cab, Boss BCB60, Effects Pedals & Other Hardware:
If you've never owned a good valve amp...... buy one! These Triple Super Lead amps are extremely versatile and have great tone. With 50 to 60 gigs a year the combo has let me down on couple of occasions (only to be expected) so I recently bought a second one as a backup and practice room amp. Boss BCB-60, Chorus, Phaser, Delay (x2) and Compression Pedals, Morley Bad Horsie 2 Wah, Korg DTR2 Rack Tuner, AKG Guitar Bug Wireless Unit........... Bored of setting up each pedal every gig I invested in the Boss BCB-60 and customised it to fit in the Morley Wah and an extra Boss pedal. The Korg tuner provides a really good light show while not on tuning duties! An AKG Guitar Bug wireless system, Tortex 1mm plectrums and 10-46 strings complete my setup.
