Surfer at Llangranog (to right) on 1st January 2009. The air temperature was minus 3 degrees centigrade and there was a crust of ice on the beach! Winter is the best time for surfing here or at Tresaith but you can also strike lucky and get head high sets from time to time in the summer.

In the summer of 2009 we purchased a two-seater Ocean Kayak for Pantmawr. It's already proven to be great fun in the small surf and a great way of seeing more of the bay when the sea is flat. For more info about use of the kayak, contact Martin before you go.

After many years of faithful service, the old woodburning stove has finally been replaced. In March 2011, we have installed a Morso stove rated at 5kW. Using cleanburn technology, it should run with a clearer window than the old stove and be more convenient for ash disposal.

June is our favourite month to visit Tresaith. The weather is generally better than at any other time, with beautiful late sunsets to the west. The summer crowds have not arrived yet but the wildlife has, with gannets diving like torpedoes and young seals popping up here and there! The small garden is also at it's best with blue and yellow irises in bloom and cascades of pink rambling roses. June 2010 did not disappoint, with great conditions for surfing, kayaking, cat-sailing or simply chilling out!

Great news for walkers! It is now possible to walk from Tresaith to Penbryn along the newly opened coastal path that runs above Gwalia Falls caravan park, thus avoiding the inland route along the roads. The footpath can be found just above the entrance to Gwalia Falls and crosses over the stream before a very steep initial ascent! The climb is worth it though, as you have a terrific view of Tresaith and the whole bay from Aberporth to Ynys Lochtyn. If you time it right, you can return via the beach at low tide, making a very nice short circular walk.

The long awaited digital switchover finally happened in October 2009. Pantmawr now has a freeview box and the usual selection of channels that go with it. Finally a decent picture, after years and years of the snowy analogue signal.
