LUCAS TWO BIDS
These are normally used in conjunction with a Multi 2-Diamond Bid (showing 6-card weak 2s in the Majors)
2 ♥ -----Shows 5 hearts and 4 (or 5) of a minor
2 ♠---Shows 5 spades and 4 (or 5) of another
Shape will be 5/5 or 5/4
Range 5 to 10
Lower range 5 to 7--- will only be 5/5 with points in the suits.
Holding no worse than K98xx and Q98xx
Upper range 7 to 10
Can be 5/4
More relaxed rules in 3rd seat, especially green against red.
Responses
1. 2nt ( with 15 points plus) asks for range
3♣ --Minimum with clubs
3♦-- Minimum with diamonds
3♥-- Maximum with clubs
3♠-- Maximum with diamonds
3NT- Maximum with Hearts ( over 2♠ )
2. 3♣ by responder. This is to play if this is the other minor,or asks to convert to 3♦
