TWO WAY REVERSE DRURY
To enable you or your partner to open light in 3rd seat, it would seem a good idea to be able to put the brakes on if partner's hand is about 11/12 points. He has a hand that was not quite good enough to open,so before he jumps to game, he wants to know how good (or bad) your opening bid was. The answer is found by using Drury
Drury is used in response to partner`s major suit opening in third or fourth seat.
You are showing him a hand of between 10 and 12 High Card Points (NOT distributional points).
With 3 card support you bid 2 ♣
With 4 card support you bid 2 ♦
All direct raises show 4-card support with below 10 points.
Partner with sub-minimum hand will now bid 2 ♥
Any other bid shows full opener.
The ONLY drawback to using this system is you are no longer able to use 2♣ or 2 ♦ as natural bids. A price worth paying, I think
