The KIAAA encourages its members as well as all Kansas Athletic Administrators to participate in the NIAAA Professional Development Program, which includes the NIAAA Leadership Training Program and the NIAAA Certification Program. The purpose of the NIAAA Leadership Training Program is a voluntary professional development program designed by athletic administrators for athletic administrators. Athletic administrators who complete the courses will have attained additional knowledge and perspective of the athletic administrator's role. Completion of leadership training programs will enhance the daily operations of the athletic department, will improve the professionalism of the athletic administrator, and will have a positive effect within the school and community. The NIAAA Professional Development Certification Program allows newly hired athletic administrators to begin the process of professional development and to assist veteran administrators to continue their professional growth in an orderly, concise, and educationally sound program of study. Three levels of certification exist in the NIAAA Leadership Training Program and require the completion of the following courses: RAA LTC 501 & LTC 502 CAA LTC 501, LTC 502 & LTC 504 CMAA LTC 501, LTC 502, LTC 504, LTC 506, 3 courses from the leadership group (503, 505, 507, 509, 510, 514, 520 &590), plus 3 courses from the management group (500, 508, 511, 512, 513, 515, 516, 518 & 520).
