The judging will be broken down into four (4) main areas; Tail, Stance, Markings and
Color. Judging is based on 100 points; Tail (30) points, Stance (40) points, Markings
(15) points and Color (15) points. The allocation of points and additional descriptions
of these areas is as follows:

of these areas is as follows:


1. TAIL 30 Points.
The tail must be large, full, round, held upright, and cover no less than ¾ of a complete
circle. Tail feathers should be held at least 1 inch higher than the top of the head.
Arranging of tail feathers is permitted, lacing is not permitted.
Faults:
1. Cone-shape or scoop tail.
2. Tail covering less than ¾ of a complete circle.
3. Splits on the tail sides caused by flight feathers.

2. STANCE 40 Points.
A. Head, Eyes, Neck and Carriage........................10 points
1. Head : The head when viewed from the top must be oval, full, and in proportion to
the rest of the body.
2. Eyes: In all cases, both eyes must be the same color. All white headed birds
should have bull eyes, color birds may have pearl, yellow or bull eyes.
3. Neck: The neck is medium in length and full in feather, any shaking of the neck is a
fault.
4. Carriage: The head and neck are held perpendicular to the ground having the eye
directly above the tips of the toes.
5. Define size: medium sized bird, if two birds are equal, larger bird should win.
B. Crest.................................................................5 points
1. The base of the crest must be in direct line with the eyes and beak setting.
2. Peak crest - As seen in the Archangel or Turbit.
3. Shell crest - Must be a full shell crest and end in rosettes.
4. Points normally allocated for the crest will be with-held in judging plain headed
birds.
Faults:
Crooked or canted crest.
C. Breast and Back................................................5 points.
1. Breast: The breast must be round and full.
2. Back: The back must be medium in length and width, leaving 1½ inch distance
between the head and tail when showing.
D. Condition of the Bird and Feather Texture..........15 points.
1. Condition: The bird should be healthy, alert, clean and free or parasites.
2. Feather Texture: Feather texture should be medium to hard.
E. Legs, Muffs and Flights.......................................5 points.
1. Legs: The legs are medium in length. The bird must stand on it’s feet, not on the tip
of it’s toes.
2. Muffs: The muffs are full-feathered, but not to exceed 1½ inches in length. This
length also includes hock feather. The feathering must be sufficient to cover all toes.
3. Flights: Flights should be carried well under the tail but not touching the ground.

3. MARKINGS 15 Points.
Indian Fantails are to judged by comparison to assist the judge in assigning
proportionate values to the various desirable qualities, points values are listed. General
requirements are the same for all colors and markings, and total 100 points. An
advantage of 10 points may be allowed for excellence in plumage color or self and
barred classes (there is no allowances for color in whites). Also an advantage of 10
points may be allowed for excellence in markings, and 5 points for color, when
patterns are involved as in saddles, ribbontails, tail and body marks, and any
experimental colorations or markings.
Recognised markings are as follows:
A. Self: Completely one color bird.
B. Bodymark: White-tailed bird with a colored body.
C. Saddle: All white bird with colored wing shield. The primary flights are
white and the secondary flights are colored.
D. Tailmark: White-bodied bird with colored tai
