Priory Lodge was built about 1970 on the site of a Priory founded by The Benedictine Nuns of St.Ceilia’s Abbey, Ryde. The front wall is part of the original Priory wall (we have not been able to find out exactly how old it is but is at least 200 years old) and on the garden side you can see two shapes where The Stations of the Cross were.  We have not yet seen the ghost of the ‘Mad Nun of the Priory’, as she makes her way around the Stations of the Cross but stories of her date back a long way. We bought the house in a run down state of repair and spent the first 2 years repairing and decorating it to its current state of comfort.
