But no passport is needed for the short sea crossing - and once you've landed on the Island everything is within easy reach. Discover picturesque villages, spectacular cliffs, downland, sandy beaches, rich farmlands, creeks, marshland, river valleys and a rich diversity of wildlife, flora and fauna. More than half the Island is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with 500 miles of award-winning public footpaths and bridleways, while almost 30 miles of its seashore is Heritage Coast.
The Chalet
The chalet is privately owned and situated on the panoramic site of Sandown Bay Holiday Centre overlooking the bay of Sandown and also wonderful views of the countryside. It is a 3 minute walk to the seafront walking along the coastal road.
There are numerous Bars and Restaurants around Sandown and children are allowed into many of them.
The chalet is built around a field where it is safe for children to play as cars have to be parked behind the chalet.
The site is situated near to the beach and the Isle of Wight zoo and Dinosaur Museum. You may walk to the shops in Sandown in approximately 10 minutes where you will find a supermarket, restaurants, bars and many giftshops. A market is held in the High Street on Sundays.
Sandown Bay is noted for its watersports and many activities taking place throughout the year. There is a leisure centre within a short distance with a swimming pool.
The Accommodation
The chalet has a double bedroom with a fitted wardrobe and a television.
The second bedroom has bunkbeds, a wardrobe and shelves.
The lounge has a dining room table and chairs and a pull down double sofa bed. Freeview is available with over 70 channels. There is also a tv/video and a dvd player with a selection of videos and dvds for you're entertainment.
The bathroom consists of a bath/shower, toilet and basin.
The kitchen is offset on the lounge and consists of a full size cooker, microwave, fridge and has all new kitchen equipment.
A laundry is available on the site at a modest cost and there is a clothes line behind the chalet.
