Visit our host band at
The Bands visit to Ludwigshafen was extremely successful and our partner Band The Musikverein Oggersheim Band made us all very welcome, and I believe many friendships have been rekindled.
On arrival at the accommodation on Friday eve, our hosts had been very busy laying out a welcoming party.
Saturday morning brought the joining of the Bands for their rehearsal of "I will follow him" after a quick change it was off to the first parade at the nearby town of Frankenthal. The girls and supporters were amazed at the participation of everybody, the majority of people dress up in fancy-dress and the floats were professional and colourful with the carnival people throwing sweets and gifts to everybody, there were children filling bag after bag with them.
After a quick change it was off to the hall for food and drink, where the older girls were kept entertained by Gunter supplying the shots!!!!!!
Saturday was the main carnival in the town of Ludwigshafen, all the bands performed very well considering the continous rain. The Haverettes were lucky enough to be filmed and were appearing live on national television during the parade. (The clip of the left is from the TV broadcast)
The girls and officers surprised everyone at the evening get together by dressing up, this included the new member Trevina (usually known as Trevor!!!!)
Natalie and the officers were presented to the Mayor on Monday while the other girls managed to do a bit of shopping.
