I would like to share with you a principle about prayer that often seems to be forgotten.
A few years ago a friend of mine felt led of the Lord to enrol at a Bible College many miles from where he lived. This would mean relocating with his family. He contacted many Property Agents for that area and could not find a home for his family. They had given notice on their current home and were due to move out on the Wednesday. By the Sunday prior to this they still had no place to go. On the Monday my friend travelled to the area, he visited all the local Property Agents, viewed all the local newspapers and returned home feeling dejected.
The following morning his wife rang me to ask if I could visit and explained the problem. Before leaving home I dropped to my knees to ask God for direction. The words God planted in my heart to share were ‘tell them to count their blessings’. To me this sounded to be of little help, how would this help them to find a home?
I arrived at their home that Tuesday Morning knowing that the following day the removal van would arrive to take their belongings to their new home, that at this time they had no idea where that would be. I shared with them what God had told me and we began to relate one to another what God had done in our lives, how he had been faithful to meet our needs, how he had healed us when we were sick, how he was still Jehovah Jireh.
I had to leave them at lunchtime for an appointment, but said call me if you need me. At 5.30pm I received a phone call from them to say that at 5.25pm a property agent had called to say a property had just come up for rent that they could move into the following day. PRAISE THE LORD!!
What happened that morning? Was it just a coincidence? How come it normally takes days for property agents to get necessary paperwork completed; yet they could move in the following day?
We had spent the morning praising God for what he had done, what effect had this on us? It raised our faith in God! We were reminding ourselves that God does answer prayer; we were conditioning ourselves to receive a miracle.
Condition yourself TODAY to receive a miracle from God.
Remember: PRAISE BRINGS VICTORY!!
