 Bob is a partner and Head of Energy specialising in upstream oil and gas work. He is based in our Aberdeen office but travels extensively.

 

Expertise

Bob has experience in all areas of oil and gas work having acted for exploration and production companies and service companies for many years. Bob's early oil and gas experience was gained in-house at Elf Exploration UK plc. He is a regular speaker at industry events and recognised as "a leader in his field" by Legal 500 and Chambers.

Bob has participated in and led teams acting on a wide variety of projects and "deals" both in the UKCS and overseas representing oil majors, independents, utilities, individuals, service companies, private equity houses and banks. 

Bob's wider power and electricity experience was gained during the privatisation of the UK electricity industry and in the years immediately thereafter. More recently he has been advising clients in respect of "Round 3" offshore issues.


In addition to his activities within the oil and gas sector, Bob is an elected member of the Court of the University of Aberdeen and a member of the editorial board of the International Energy Law Review.
