Welcome , to the second e-bulletin specially designed for all former pupils of Robert Gordon's. In this issue you can read about the Aberdeen Gordonian Dinner which was held last month, a selection of our forthcoming events and the achievements of some of our Gordonian's in the world of sport.

Food & Wine Tasting Evening

The Food & Wine Club is organising its first food & wine tasting event to be held in Aberdeen in May. If you are interested in attending, you can register for your free membership here or by emailing us. In addition, we are hoping to organise an event for our London members at Green's, St James', so do let us know if that would be of interest.

Gordonian Reception, Houston

All Gordonian's are welcome to attend a reception during OTC Week in Houston on the 1st May in the Vendome Room, The Hilton Houston Post Oak Hotel. All those who want to find out more or attend the event please contact us for more information.

The 2007 New York Dinner

Robert Gordon's is holding another fundraising dinner in New York this year on the 5th April at the World Financial Centre. For all those who have yet to RSVP please do so before the 23rd March. For those who have not already noted an interest but would like to attend the dinner please contact us today.

The Aberdeen Gordonian Dinner

On 2nd February, a record number of 220 Gordonian's gathered at the Marcliffe for the annual dinner. Our guest speaker was Nicol Stephen MSP and other speakers included Chris Smylie and Chris Snape. Sporting Heroes

Gordon's has a remarkable record of achievement in the world of sport which was highlighted in the recent Aberdeen Sports Hall of Fame. Eight of the 21 of those honoured were Gordonian's! View the Hall of Fame here.
Also in the news lately, Colin Smith (Class of '90) Scotland's wicket-keeper, is currently out in the Caribbean for the World Cup. Catch up on the latest

Calling all FP Hockey Fans

As the end of the hockey season draws to a close, the 1st XI would once again like to play an FP Team. The match is to be played at Countesswells on the Astroturf pitch on Monday 26 March at 4:15pm, followed by a match tea in the Pavilion. If you are interested in playing in the match then please let Miss S McNaught (PE Department) before Friday 23 March by phoning the school on 01224 646346 or by emailing Miss McNaught direct.

Record-Breaker?

Michael Slater (Class of '87) is about to embark on his latest adventure to cross the ocean in record-breaking time in 'La Mondiale'. To read more about his epic journey click here.

School News

RGC Junior School pupils record impressive sporting achievements including Scottish Under-11s Ice Hockey Team, Scottish National Gymnastics Squad and skiing. Check out more here. On Saturday 10 February, the RGC girls' 1st XI played the RGC 2nd XI in the final of the North District Schools' Senior Knock-Out Cup at Keith Park, Aberdeen. It was the first time that two teams from the same school had reached the final of this competition, and the match was a great advertisement for the very high standard of hockey being played by Gordon's girls at the present time.
