Aurora are formed when the Earths magnetic field is disrupted by the Suns solar wind, this is dramaticly speeded up after a solar flare and coronal mass ejections on the Suns surface. This solar wind is then rich in charged particals that exite the upper atmospher at the north and south magnetic poles.Aurora are thought by many to only be seen in the outback of Alaska or the Arctic circle in the northern emisphere, well all these images were shot at Winterton On Sea Norfolk UK 52.23 deg north
Also on this page are images of Noctilucent clouds, these are particals reflecting the suns light at high altitude and are norm observed in the summer months,
