IT COULD BE A PERGOLA TO FIT IN A CERTAIN AREA OF THE DECK OR SET AGAINST THE PROPERTY. A  MATCHING FENCE OR GATE nearby to keep children safe from say a water feature as we are sometimes asked even!

You might consider planter boxes that match with your new deck . We design each to balance with the deck proportions. E.G. perhaps square or trough style as here or hanging from the side or edge of deck! Just one of many ideas, others could include trellis, hot tubs,barbecues built in etc.

The board layout pattern or board profile or species is another variable we can offer e.g. diagonal or different directions.

Handrailing might be chosen either with banisters or perhaps rope feature . Infill feature panels to banisters or finals to newels. Maybe projecting newels or continuous handrailing uninterupted with newels set below, we can tailor the design to suit your taste.

Perhaps a seat matched to decking either along a wall or maybe set against the handrail or perhaps a corner seat with storage or individual seat to surround a favorite tree? We have the experience and skills to meet all individual needs!

Individual style is another aspect we can assist with. Both the above examples have log edging to trim exposed edges. They could have been finished in decking plank at the edges to match the main deck or contrasting plank, even trellis or bamboo can look great here! One deck was designed with curved edging which the log fitted well. The other had the edges splayed at 45degrees both look great!Steps sited to individual needs can also be seen in the 2 examples. In the last example we upgraded the fence and gate and added a pergola against the house as well as handrailing.

We cater for special needs. Everyone has their own requirements. No two decks are the same or serve the same needs. For example the two above :- one is designed as a bridge balcony to entertain on as well as access rising rear garden from a first floor loft conversion french door exit!

In the other photo the needs were much different. The client was unfortunate in having to move by wheelchair. We were able to give her a platform to enjoy an outside break in her garden, this was a very satisfying result which we were pleased to overcome. The deck was a simple task but resulted in great pleasure for the lady.
Other times we are asked to surround say a pond or pool or even deck a pool in as new householder is not a pool fan! All the time we try to resolve a situation or improve what is already there.We even build over water with driven piles. see picture below!
