Truth

Truth is scary. And most people do not want to hear it.

Might cause a little earth shaking.

Heb 4:12 "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing assunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

The truth will make you uncomfortable. But, we have to be made uncomfortable to grow. We never grow much when we are at ease; When everything is going right in our lives. In fact the closer we come to getting it right, the more difficult things usually become...

Matt 10:34-36 "Think not that I am come to send peace on the earth; I came not to send peace, but a Sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household."

Luke 12:51 "Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, nay; but rather division."

John 15:18-19 "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own; but because ye are not of the world, therefore the world hateth you."

When one is converted, baptized, and begins to make changes in one's life; beginning to obey God. The road is not always easy. Sometimes friends and relatives, are not so understanding. You see, the truth makes them feel uncomfortable too.

Phil 1:29 "For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for his sake."

Suffering is part of the package.

I Tim 2:3-4 "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our saviour. Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth."

It has been said that men seldom discover the truth. And when they do happen to stumble over it, they hurry on as if nothing had happened.

Knowing the truth might require some changes to be made in our lives. Some things that we would have to change are a part of our tradition. What it all boils to is...do we obey man or God?

Mark 7:7-9 "Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
