The First Elvis Impersonator Jumpsuit. The history of this suit is so long  you could write a book about it. Andy Kaufman was a huge Elvis fan from childhood. When "Saturday Night Live" came calling and wanted Andy to be on the show, he took the $3500 dollars that they advanced him and tracked down Bill Belew. Bill was Elvis' jumpsuit maker. Andy wanted a jumpsuit like Elvis wore for that first show. Bill agreed to make the jumpsuit. As a bonus  Bill  told Andy that he would use studs on Andy's suit that came off of Elvis' suits that has been repaired. Andy was ecstatic and went on to do "Saturday Night Live" and many other shows wearing this suit. After Elvis died, Andy met Larry Geller, a close friend of Elvis, in a California restaurant. Larry introduced himself and told Andy that Elvis had taped him while watching Andy back at Graceland on SNL. Larry said Elvis loved his impersonation and was very flattered. Andy was relieved, not knowing if Elvis would like his impersonation or not. The tapes of Andy performing in this suit are  still in Graceland. Andy preformed many times as Elvis and may have been the best impersonator of any I've seen. Unfortunately Andy's life followed Elvis' life in another tragic way, Andy died  young. It is also interesting to note that  Elvis  joked of one day faking his death, so did Andy. For many years fans waited hoping that Andy had pulled of the best scam of his career and would show up once again, maybe even wearing this jumpsuit as Elvis. Comes with a long letter from Larry Geller telling of Elvis and Andy Kaufman. The story of this suit is also detailed in Bob Zmuda's  book about his best friend Andy Kaufman. SNL has also released in a box set, including footage of Andy's complete performance. Price $21000. Here is a link to one of Andy many preformances in this suit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhQvsG-4CcQ
