Trekking the Trinitys

This page is still a work in progress

Trinity Peaks & basin are located 60 miles east of Boise, Idaho.
The alpine basin & sourounding peaks are designated as the 'Trinity Basin Primative Area'.
Access is east from the I 84 Blacks Creek exit 7 miles south of Boise or north of state hwy 20 and Anderson Ranch Dam east of Mountain Home.
All access roads once entering the Boise National Forest are dirt roads and very steep in places.
Good  local maps & a sturdy high clearence vehicle is must.
Four wheel drive is also a  good idea though not required on good summer days.
A sharp eye must be kept on the weather.  Summer afternoon thunder storms can
suddenly appear as if out of nowhere.

Star is Ken & Carol's new puppy, at the time she was only 6 mos. old
Star is a black Giant Schnauzer without cropped ears.   Ken is in the
process of training her to replace his good budy Buzz.  A tall order
as Star has a very wide independant streak.

Boise River south fork canyon.  Canyon in a canyon with some super thick laval flows!
One of the many sights you can see on the way to Big Trinity via the Blacks Creek access.
