elcome to our website. We are Louise, Declan and Callum Clement and we would like to introduce ourselves to you and thought that this page would be a great way of doing so. We are situated in Lancashire, known as the gateway to The Lakes, and are surrounded by open countryside, rivers, canals, valleys and forests.
After being brought up with Golden Retrievers and their gentle, patient and laid back nature, I acquired my first Dalmatian, 18 years ago. Abbi was a fantastic introduction to the breed, and had many Dalmatian traits, she finally 'grew up' when she was ten!! Having lived with Abbi I was well and truely hooked on Dalmatians. When the time was right I had Sally and Phoebe, and the rest, as they say, is history! Sadly I lost Sally in August 2004, very unexpected and sudden, when we thought we had many more years to share together.
I did a little showing before my children, Declan and Callum, came along, after which we put things on hold for a while. I am enjoying showing the dogs again now that we as a family have a little more spare time. I am a member of the Breed Clubs, and the British Carriage Dog Society.
Unfortunately 2006 brought unexpected changes to our home circumstances (there is a 'type'of woman that isnt put off by the fact that a man has a wife and children!), and so showing the dogs became impossible for a while. But strangely enough, the saying that something good always comes from something bad has been very true in my case, as since then there has been endless, fantastic achievements, wonderful times and experiences and some of my best friendships formed!
2007 saw the return of the Caldecacres in the show ring! And what a year we had! Every Caldecacre that we have bred for others, being shown in 2007 Qualified for Crufts 2008, with some lovely placings all through the year. We also saw Caldecacre Cwite Contrary for Pjasdals become Bronze Road Dog at the Carriage Dog Trials. 2007 also saw our very first Hamiltonstovare puppy join our family, and Callum has really enjoyed showing Hixie, especially at Crufts! 2008 was another wonderful year. Boo and Carrera continued with their advertising work for Russell Hobbs. We have seen some fantastic placings for the Caldecacres currently being shown. And a new addition - Perditas Right as Rain at Caldecacre (Blinken) from Norway.
We are now in 2009, and already a great start to the year with Caldecacre Celsie and Caldecacre Chanterelle (both owned by John Davies & Josie Kaal) competing for CaniX at Crufts and finishing a fantastic 4th, only seconds out of the medals! Again, some wonderful show placings, not least the fantastic Reserve Challenge Certificate won by Caldecacre Couronne (owned by Matt & Julie Cooper) at WELKS. Carrige Dog news to follow soon as Bronze Road Dog, Caldecacre Cwite Contrary at Pjasdals (owned by Julie Swindells) competes for her Carriage Dog title!
Our dogs are first and foremost members of our family and they make great best friends too!!
