Chelmsford is approximately 40 miles from London.
There are a few railway stations nearby, but the one we would recommend is WICKFORD station. This is on the Victoria line which runs direct from Liverpool Street in London to Southend-On-Sea. This is a very frequent service (but please note do not confuse this with the line from Fenchurch Street, this will NOT bring you the right way)!

After Dartford Tunnel leave the M25 at Junction 30 (A13),
Travel approx 13 miles until you come to a set of roundabouts (there are five roundabouts around one large roundabout called SADDLERS FARM),
take the turning for A130, follow this onto the new A130 at the next roundabout. Take the next slip road sign-posted for Wickford and South Woodham Ferrers, also a brown sign for Marsh Farm Country Park. Keep in the left hand lane you will bend round to the left, then turn left at top and turn left at the next roundabout where you will see sign-posted for Rettendon also with a brown sign for Hyde Hall Gardens. Follow this for approx. 2 miles, then you will come down a hill take the second turning on the left which is South Hanningfield Road ( having a brown sign for Hanningfield Reservoir ). Follow this road under bridge, you will see us approx. 0.4 miles up the road on the right hand side just after the 40 mph road sign.

Follow the M25 to Junction 28 (A12)
Follow A12 towards Chelmsford approx 14 miles
Leave A12 for the A130 ( to Basildon and Southend ), take the turning for Howe Green & The Hanningfields which is the turning off the roundabout before the new A130 turning.
Follow the Southend Road approx 3 miles
You go down a steep hill ,
Turn right into South Hanningfield Road ( brown sign for Hanningfield Reservoir & Visitor Centre ). Follow this road under bridge, you will see us approx. 0.4 miles up the road on the right hand side just after the 40 mph road sign.
