October	GSP Club Open - ended up being something of a Barleyarch day with Sh Ch Barleyarch Alvar winning BIS and Sh Ch Barleyarch Cricket at Keigame winning RBIS, plus our own Barleyarch Paxo winning 2 x 1sts and his final open show point for his Junior Warrant. Pixie won a 2nd to the eventual Best Bitch, and several other Barleyarch stock won numerous 1sts and 2nds, a satisfying end to a very enjoyable show. South Wales - brought a couple of wins for the kennel, Sh Ch Barleyarch Alvar JW won Res Dog CC and a 1st in Junior Dog was awarded to Barleyarch Oxo at Arrowfair plus a number of placings went to Barleyarch sired progeny Driffield - was another good day for the kennel, especially littermates Barleyarch Paxo winning 1st Post Graduate Dog, brother Barleyarch Oxo of Arrowfair winning Junior Dog and sister Barleyarch Atora at Tequesta winning Junior Bitch, plus Barleyarch Lexus (a Pocket babe) pulling out all stops to win a 1st and Best Puppy Dog. Then off to the Eukanuba Champion Stakes ring for a spin with Am Ch VJK-Myst Sterling at Barleyarch who promptly went and won the Gundog heat to a huge cheer. Which meant we had to come back 2 days later to challenge for the the overall winner which to our utter delight he also won - what a start! Several Paris babes also won well including a Best Puppy in Breed, and a 1st Gundog Puppy Stakes and a 2nd in Open Bitch.
September	Next day Barleyarch Paxo won two 1sts and RBOB at Stoke on Trent Gundog Club Belfast - received the largest entry of GSPs for this show in a long while, Sh Ch Barleyarch Alvar JW won Dog CC & BOB and his sister Barleyarch Pixie JW won Limit Bitch, and took her 6th Reserve CC. Paris babes won 1 x 1st and 2 x 2nds and other Barleyarch progeny won 1x 1st and 2 x2nds. Darlington - Turned into a celebration day for our kennel. Barleyarch Pixie JW won her 2nd CC with BOB, over her litter brother Duncan, who gained his 3rd CC and crown, now to be known forever more as Show Champion Barleyarch Alvar, a son of Primrose. whilst another Primrose daughter Barleyarch Atora at Tequesta gained a 2nd, Paris son Delahawk Wild Rover made his debut by winning 1st in Minor Puppy dog and his sister 2nd in MPB, with a further 4 Barleyarch progeny winning 2 x 1sts and 2 x 2nds! Richmond - Brings great news for Barleyarch Alvar JW takes his 2nd CC after a number of Reserves, and a Paris son Plumhollow Top Hat wins 2 x 1sts. Birmingham City - turned out to be a truly memorable day for our kennel. Bitch CC & BOB was won by our Barleyarch Pixie JW, who was then shortlisted in the Group, making a return to the ring was Sh Ch Barleyarch Cricket at Keigame winning the Dog CC, Pixie's brother Barleyarch Alvar won Reserve Dog CC and Paris daughter, Fleur De Lys won Reserve Bitch CC, Barleyarch Paxo won 2nd, altogether Paris children won 3 x 1sts, and another 1st & 3x 2nds were awarded to Barleyarch progeny.
August	An exciting win for Barleyarch Atora at Tequesta, (Paxo's sister) who won Best Puppy in Breed followed by Best Puppy in Show at North Riding Gundog! SKC - Barleyarch Paxo won 1st in Junior and Best Puppy Dog, only beaten by a Paris daughter for Best Puppy with a Paris son taking 1st in Post Graduate Dog, Barleyarch Pixie JW won 3rd in a hard fought Limit bitch, Barleyarch Alvar racked up another Reserve Dog CC, whilst Paris daughter Fleur de Lys took the Bitch CC. All told, 11 Barleyarch progeny won either 1st or 2nd, everything considered it turned out to be a good day! A nice win for one of the Pocket/Paris babies. Barleyarch Jenson at Ardiania attended Leicester City Open show on 31st August 2009 and won BP plus RBOB, then went on to win 1st place out of 31 entries in the Puppy Dog Stakes. At Rotterdam International Championship Show, Bitch CAC, International CACIB and BOB Netherlands was awarded to Junior Champion Gamebourne Perdita a Paris daughter WKC - A good day for the Barleyarch kennel. sister and brother, Barleyarch Pixie JW and Barleyarch Alvar JW won limit Bitch & Dog and then both won the Reserve CCs, plus Barleyarch Paxo won 1st & 3rd, Four different Paris progeny won 1st prizes, Barleyarch Atora at Tequesta won a 2nd, and a further 3 Barleyarch progeny won 1 x 1st and 2 x 2nds News on the working front for Barleyarch Bourneville of Gamebourne, aka Rio. The Yorkshire branch of the GSPC hosted the annual Team Retrieving Challange at Tadcaster North Yorkshire on 9th August. Invited teams entered as many dogs as they can muster, the top 3 overall scoring dogs / team have their marks combined to give a team score for competion purposes.  Rio represented the Yorkshire Group and finished the day in the teams top 3 thus her 84 /100 contributed to the overall team win for Yorkshire. Well done Rio! Bournemouth - After watching the completion of our breed judging for the day, sadly a quote by Napoleon Bonaparte is brought to mind..."Never ascribe to malice that which can adequately be explained by incompetence" Though one or two Barleyarch progeny were in the placings, we prefer on this occassion not to celebrate them. Paignton - Great day for the kennel, Barleyarch Paxo won 1st and Best Puppy in Breed, Barleyarch Pixie JW won Reserve Bitch CC, Barleyarch Alvar, Barleyarch Jenson, Barleyarch Atora at Tequesta also won 1sts prizes, Paris daughter Gamebourne Perdita won Bitch CC & BOB, and yet another of his daughters Gamebourne Bedazzled (out of Barleyarch Bourneville) gained a 1st. National Gundog - Barleyarch Alvar JW wins 1st Limit dog, Barleyarch Pixie JW won 2nd Limit Bitch (was called to challenge for Res Bitch CC but was sadly unavailable, judge said she would have won it!), Barleyarch Paxo made a welcome return to the ring by winning 2nd Puppy dog in a very giddy state, then thankfully calmed down later for the prestigous "Pup of the Year heats" and promptly won it, he then challenged for overall winner against the Bitch winner and won this too, qualifying him for the London Finals!!! Barleyarch Jenson also gained a 2nd in Minor Puppy, Three Paris daughters won 2 x 1sts and 2 x 2nds and another 3 Barleyarch sired stock won 1 x 1st and 2 x 2nds in there classes.
July	Leeds - Sadly not a good day for Barleyarch progeny. East of England - Barleyarch Pixie JW wins 1st Limit Bitch & Res CC, Pickpocket babies Barleyarch Mercedes of Mordax win Minor Puppy Bitch & Barleyarch Jenson, 2nd in Minor Puppy Dog, Paris daughter Fleur de Lys wins Puppy Bitch, with a further 7 Barleyarch progeny winning either 1st or 2nds. Windsor - Paris son Sh Ch Symondsdean Chicago wins Res CC & Paris daughter Fleur de Lys wins Puppy Bitch, both Barleyarch Alvar and Barleyarch Jenson at Ardinia win 2nd in their respective classes another 4 Barleyarch progeny win their classes plus 3 more win 2nd!
June	Blackpool - Barleyarch Alvar JW wins Limit dog and takes another Res CC. Paris daughters Fleur de Lys wins Puppy Bitch & Honeytedd Truffle wins a strong Limit bitch class, Barleyarch Atora at Tequesta and Barleyarch Rattan at Tequesta both win 2nd, plus 2 other Barleyarch progeny win 1sts including Best Puppy in breed and a further 4 win 2nd. Border Union - Barleyarch Pixie wins 1st Limit Bitch and Res CC,Barleyarch Alvar JW wins Limit dog, Paris daughter Fleur de Lys wins Best Puppy. Three Counties - Barleyarch Alvar JW wins Limit dog plus 2 Barleyarch daughters win their classes including the Res CC and a Playboy son wins 2nd in Open dog. GSP Club Ch Show - Barleyarch Alvar wins Dog CC & BIS, Barleyarch Paxo wins 2 x 1sts & Best Puppy in Show, Sh Ch Barleyarch Arun wins 1st in Veteran dog, Paris babies Magregor Bino wins Graduate dog & Fleetapple Ophelia 2 classes gaining the final points for her Junior Warrant, and a Barleyarch daughter wins the Bitch CC and RBIS, plus a further 10 Barleyarch progeny win 2nds. Not forgetting Gamebourne Perdita who gained 5th in Novice the previous day at her first ever Working Test. Southern Cos - Barleyarch Paxo wins Best Puppy in Breed, Barleyarch Alvar wins Limit dog, Ch Barleyarch Playboy daughter Sh Ch Puddledub Plum at Stairfoot wins Bitch CC, sisters Pixie & Melusine win 2nd in strong classes, Paris progeny Fleur de Lys and Magregor Chockywockydooda win 1sts, plus 3 others win 2nds. Bath - Barleyarch Paxo wins 2 x 1sts and Best Puppy, his sister Barleyarch Atora at Tequesta wins Best Bitch Puppy, Pixie wins 2nd Limit Bitch, Playboy daughter Sh Ch Puddledub Plum at Stairfoot wins her class and another Barleyarch daughter wins Res CC. GSP Club of Netherlands - Paris son and daughter, Gamebourne Romeo at Ankerwyke gains the necessary points for his Dutch Championship but must now wait until he is 27mnths old to win a further award before he can claim his title, sister Gamebourne Perdita is also now only one award away from her Dutch Championship.
May	SKC - Barleyarch Paxo wins Puppy dog, Barleyarch Alvar wins Limit dog & Res CC, Pixie wins 2nd Limit Bitch, Barleyarch Saxa (sister to Paxo) wins 2nd first time out, as did Barleyarch Lexus, Paris daughter Fleur de Lys wins Res CC & Best Puppy, Bitch CC & BOB was won by another Barleyarch daughter.
April	WELKS - Didnt attend so lets just forget about that one! GSPA Ch - Barleyarch Paxo (son of Sh Ch Barleyarch Primrose) made his Championship debut winning 1st Minor Puppy Dog, Pixie won 2nd Limit Bitch, Paris sons won 2 classes including Dog CC & BIS, Paris daughter Drysika Fleur de Lys wins her class, plus 5 other Barleyarch progeny win 1st or 2nd.
