Irritable Bowel Syndrome
F. was suffering from debilitating IBS; she was unable to leave the house without taking medication. After all the usual GP tests had revealed nothing significant she came to see me. We immediately decided on a stool analysis test and the results showed she has a very high level of Klebsiella bacteria and a low population of beneficial bacteria and a leaky gut. She was successfully treated over a period of three months and made a full recovery resulting in normal digestive function. She remains well and was delighted to have her life back.
Migraine
C. came to me with debilitating migraine. She was suffering at least once a week which resulted in being in bed for two days. She was unable to work and was feeling quite depressed about is all. She was showing signs of poor blood sugar balance, deficiencies of some of the B vitamins and her diet although good contained a lot of wheat. We focused around these issues for the first appointment by balancing her blood sugar, eating less wheat and more vitamin B rich foods and she took a B complex. At her second appointment her mood and energy had improved but the migraines remained. I suggested a food allergy blood test which revealed allergies to pork, lamb and dairy products. She cut these out of her diet and has not had a migraine since. The only thing she misses is bacon sandwiches!!
Asthma.
S. who was four years old has suddenly developed asthma and had been hospitalised twice in two months. His diet contained a lot of dairy products which I suggested he cut out for a month to see if there was any change. He was given information about alternative types of milk and sources of calcium, I also suggested a fish oil supplement, a multivitamin and some vitamin C. J. did not come for his second appointment and when I rang his mother she had forgotten all about the appointment as the asthma had gone!.
