SPECIAL EVENT! 2 PM Saturday, Oct. 18 - Singer/songwriter Mary Kaye of South Berwick will play her original children's music at a free 30-minute concert. The concert will celebrate the release of Mary's first CD, called "I Sang It Just For You." Kaye's started composing children's music for children's theater productions she had written and directed. She was also been inspired to write songs by her two daughters, ages 3 and 5. Mary has worked as a professional actress, an elementary classroom teacher and director of several drama camps for children. We're really excited she will be performing at SoBo, and her CDs are already on sale at SoBo. ALSO HAPPENING 7 - 9 PM Friday Oct. 10 - OPEN MIC for all. The open mics have been great lately, with a combination of poets, guitar players, high school singer/songwriters and others. Please come play, read or just enjoy. 7 - 9 PM Friday Oct. 18 - High School OPEN MIC. 10:30 am Wednesdays - CHILDREN'S STORY HOUR - Vicky Roche has been doing a great job reading stories each week. Take a walk through the beautiful foliage and stop in for coffee with your two-month-old, two-year-old or 12-year-old. NEW TOYS: We have several shelves of new toys, including a fairy house, several beautiful new mobiles, learning card games and puppets. RECENT BOOK ARRIVALS:
We have received several loads of great books lately. Among them are a good collection of cat lover books, as well as several fiction and nonfiction books of Vietnam War stories. Also, come get EMPIRE FALLS so you can read the book before the movie comes out (which of course is being filmed largely in York County). We also received several books on the APPALACHIAN TRAIL. Come browse, or read while you sip hot cocoa.
