Welcome to the Sheffield DX Net
Thanks for calling in and visiting our web page.  We are the Sheffield DX net and we are all members of the Sheffield  Amateur Radio Club (SARC). We are on the air most nights of the week from 2000 UTC looking for that rare DX station or simply just having a chat!

There are various levels of expereince and licences on the net from novice to advanced. We all use different Radio's and a huge variation in antenna's and power output.  Foundation licencee's are restricted to 10 Watts where an advanced operator can run 400 Watts. We try to encourage Foundation
(M3's) and 2E0's intermediate licencee's to take part in our net to enhance their knowledge and operating skills. Most of the M3's and 2E0's on this net are now confident and have enhanced both their operating skills and their knowledge of Amatuer Radio and are in the process of advancing to the Intermediate licence.

We have many regulars home and abroad who make up the net. Most nights you can hear  M0GAV - Andy,  G0HSA - Andrew, M1ERS - Steve, M3FMG - Sean, 2E0JTL - Jack, 2E0TJX - Tim, M0TWS - Trevor, 2E0DRE - David and myself G3VCQ - Colin. Other Sheffield stations who join us from time to time are G0JJR, G4FAL, G3PHO, M3VCQ, G0UUE to name but a few!

So you cannot hear us on air, this could be for a number of reasons apart from the fact you may not own a radio receiver that covers the frequencies we operate on! Propogation and skip are factors as to whether you hear us or not.  If say we are on 14.208mhz and you live in the UK outside 5-10 miles of Sheffield, you probably won't hear us. However if you live in the USA then you will most likely copy us just fine! We also broadcast our net on the web, RIGHT click here to listen which means you don't need a radio to listen to the world famous Sheffield DX net!
