 THE ELEVENTH SUNDAY
AFTER TRINITY

31 August 2014

8.00am: Holy Communion (Parish Church)
9.30am: Holy Communion (Church of the Holy Spirit)
10.45am: Holy Communion (Parish Church)

Prestatyn...

located on the beautiful North Wales coast, is a busy Parish of The Church in Wales in the Diocese of St Asaph. Our congregations meet at Christ Church (which is the Parish Church, situated on Prestatyn High Street), and the smaller and more intimite Church of The Holy Spirit (situated on Victoria Road, Prestatyn). You are invited to find out more by clicking on the buttons to the left of th
is page.

We tend to think that Church is definitely about people rather than buildings, and there are many and various activities which happen in the parish, details of which you can find in our weekly Pew Leaflets which are published on this site.  Our Parish Church is open daily from around 9.15am until 4.15pm and many people call in to enjoy the quiet atmosphere, to light a candle and to say a prayer.  We seek to be a welcoming community for people of all faiths and none.  Worship in our churches is centred upon the weekly Celebration of the Holy Communion.

Holy Baptisms and Weddings are, of course, a major part of life in our Parish, and if you live in our Parish or have strong links with either of our churches, then these can be arranged at the Vicar's Surgery which takes place in the Parish Church on a Wednesday evening at 6.00pm or a Saturday morning at 10.00am We have added new pages to this website to give you some preliminary information before you go any further! Check out the pages via the link buttons to the side of this page.

If you want to know more, then please contact the Parish Office.

Announcements

We are to have Pleasant Sunday Afternoon at 3.00pm on Sunday 31 August at CHS. This will feature light organ and other music, a film, and much singing and fun. It will conclude by around 4.30pm. Admission 2.50.

The next Meeting of the Parochial Church Council takes place on Thursday 4 September 2014 at 6.30pm in the Parish Community Hall.

At the end of August the Diocese of St Asaph will be welcoming the Right Reverend Gayle Harris, a leading bishop from the Episcopal Church of the United States of America. As part of Bishop Gayle's visit to Wales, Bishop Gregory will be welcoming her to a special Eucharist in St Asaph Cathedral on Sunday, 31 August at 11.00am, at which he has invited Bishop Harris to preside and preach. Bishop Gregory extends a warm invitation to clergy and lay people from across the diocese to join him in welcoming Bishop Harris by being present on this occasion which is believed to be the first when a woman bishop will preside and preach in a cathedral in Wales. The Right Reverend Gayle Harris was ordained as bishop in 2002 and serves as Bishop Suffragan in the Diocese of Massachusetts, the second woman bishop to hold this position. Her immediate predecessor, the Right Reverend Barbara Harris (no relation) was the first woman bishop in the Anglican Communion.
