Original Glazed Sunburst Kinema, Morden The first of the illuminated surround styles, and while the above-left picture of the Morden console is a good representation, it should be noted that this one has slimmer glass towers. The accompanying picture of one of the recently-restored Plaza, Stockport sides shows the normal width, together with the usual six metal ‘sun rays’. A further variation in the Glazed Sunburst relates to the diagonal lightning flash. There were examples of this being alternatively forward or backward facing, and either etched into the glass of the side panels or formed as an integral part of the metal framework |

Bebington Style Rialto, Bebington • Art, Bury • Regal, Great Yarmouth Although I have adopted the name Bebington for this style, the Rialto surround was the odd one out, being of reduced height to fit the Baby two-manual console. Above is Bebington, while to the left, Frank Melia is shown at the Art, Bury. This organ was the second to feature the new 10-tab illuminated surround control. Note that the centre panel in the bench at Bury was installed upside-down!
