GFM Presents...

The first in the "GFM Presents" series of events is being held on Saturday 19th April 2008 at the Abbeymoor Stadium in Glastonbury. Come along to the GFM 70s disco and celebrate our forthcoming launch. Go to our "NEWS" page for further info, or buy tickets here.

Launching June 2008

Broadcasting to a 10 mile radius, and online around the globe, Glastonbury FM (G-FM) has become known for its mix of irreverent chat, scathing comment and shining wit coupled with THE most awesome music playlist.

In March 2007, after 4 years of temporary broadcasts, GFM was awarded a 5-year Community Radio broadcasting licence. Launching as a fulltime service in June 2008, GFM will be different to existing services available in the region. GFM has previously sourced its entire output locally and intends to continue to build the diversity and range of output, bringing more and more local people to the airwaves.

As a not for profit organisation, and without the restriction of a commercial mandate, we are confident we can challenge, educate, inform and include all parts of the community.

RIP Eric

Out with the old, in with the new!!

Regular visitors might notice that this is a brand new website. Just like Eric, our faithful station trailer (pictured here on it's way to the great scrapyard in the sky), the old site served us well, but now it's time to welcome in the new. To coincide with our fulltime launch, we've launched this new site. In time, we hope that it will become an important community tool, working hand in hand with our FM broadcast. However, if you're the nostalgic type, don't worry, our old website is still out there. If you need to remind yourself of how it all started, just click on the "Old Website" button at the top of this page.

Meanwhile, you can help us start building the new website by sending in any items of interest, news stories or details of forthcoming events for our "News" page. Email us at news@glastonburyfm.com.

Once launched, GFM will provide an exciting opportunity for local people to develop new skills. Not just presenting, editing and programming, but a whole range of skills including IT, Financial Manangement and Marketing. Volunteers will be provided with an induction and training programme supported by the station.  GFM actively encourages people from all areas of the community to get involved. Click on the "Volunteer" button to register your interest.
