"John was a painter and designer who did some work for The Who (he did the cover and illustrations for DECADE OF THE WHO for example). Roger and I both remember him fondly (he was quite an eccentric!) and are very, very sad to hear about this horrible accident.
Pete Townshend"
It is with great sadness I have to report that fellow Who fan and Shout member John Davis (aka Woodgrange) was involved in a fatal car crash on Saturday 22nd July 2006.
John's funeral will be held on 8th August at
St Mary the Virgin Church
Church lane,
Silchester,
Hampshire
Anyone who knew John and wants to attend would be most welcome.
John's next of kin has asked that if anyone wants to make a donation in John's memory they should be sent to the Undertakers who are handling John's funeral arrangements
Geoff Church and Company

Please ask for Margaret she will help anybody who may like to donate to charity, all donations will be distributed between the Police, Air Ambulance and Hospital that attended John in Wiltshire. These were the services that fought in vain to save John's life.
It was John's wish that his organs be donated on his passing, this was carried out and at least 3 people have a better chance of a good life thanks to John's request.
I have to say I got to know John quite well, for those of you who don't know, John was responsible for the artwork on the cover of the 2006 convention programme and poster, John also organised the memorabilia exhibition we held on the day, bringing with him a lot of his own collection. John was a wonderful man and so knowledgable on so many subjects, how many of you can read Egyptian hieroglyphic? Well John could!
John was also the artist that did most of the artwork in the "Decade of the Who" book and worked with Pete Townshend on many occasions.
