ERIC PHILLIPS
Eric has been performing in bands since he started playing acoustic guitar at the age of 14! It all began with the stage band at Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Through the years he has performed with some very prominent country bands: Proud & Country, White Line Fever and Blackjack.
In the past he has won several awards as a bass player from the Pony Express Awards Association and also the Massachusetts Country Music Awards Association.
Since 1993, Eric has played lead guitar in DURANGO MANGO, but is also well versed in pedal steel guitar & banjo. ...he also picks a "mean" ukulele!!!
He is the main vocalist of the band, performing lead & harmony vocals- His musical influences are:
Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, George Strait, Alan Jackson- Chet Atkins, Jimmy Buffett & the Ventures.
Eric hosted "THE" Theme Show on WOON Radio-1240, and co-hosted O'Kay's Corral until his move to Maine in 2006. He is also a 1997 Honorary Member of the New England Country Music Club and a 2001 NECMC Hall of Fame inductee.
