The Parish Church of the Assumption of Blessed Mary and St. Nicholas, Etchingham
is situated on the north side of the A265, near the Railway Station.
Construction of the Church we see today started in the mid 14th century, and major restoration carried out in the 19th century.
The church has many interesting features, including a fine set of misericords, memorial brasses to sir William de Etchingham (1333-89) and his son,
daughter-in-law and grandson, and a memorial to Henry Corbould, the designer of the Penny Black Postage Stamp.
More details of the church history are on the history page.
